TORRENTIAL RAINS!!!

Let's start off with the current weather.  Tonight will feature some cloudy skies and temperatures in the 30's.  Rain will start to move into the area as the night progresses.  By morning we will see heavier rains.

This is my current 5 day forecast.  You can see I placed a hazard sign under Thursday.  Thursday is going to feature 2-4" of rain for the area.  The concern the National Weather Service has is Flooding.  Streams, Creek, and Rivers will all be on the rise as the the day progresses on Thursday.  All of the moisture that falls will travel the down the OHIO RIVER and will raise the river waters 10-15FT during the course of this storm.

Here's a picture of the storm from the GFS Weather Ensemble.  It's huge and is going to hammer the area with torrential rains.  This is going to be a major storm and shouldn't be taken lightly.

This picture speaks for itself and tells us just how much rain we can expect.  The Southern Ohio Valley will see the most rain out of this storm.  I'm very concerned with the VERY HIGH RISK for FLOODING.  Any roads that run close to streams, creeks and rivers can become flooded very fast.

My rain forecast has changed a little bit.  it mostly changed when i brought the 2-4" of rain line up into southern Ohio.  If you live in a flood prone area, you should be aware of the dangers of flooding and how to make sure your home is safe.  I'm sure all of you are reading this thinking that 2-4" of rain won't do much.  Well with the current rise in the streams, creek, and rivers it won't take much more to cause those waterways to come out of their banks as some have already.

There is also some concern with severe weather taking part in this storm.  It doesn't appear at the time that any highly severe weather will play in our area, but  you can expect to maybe hear a few rumbles of thunder.

We need to also be watching Sunday-Monday as another storm that could be stronger will impact the area.
More on that tomorrow and the coming days.
