It appears that the Freezing Line on the modified arctic front is approaching much faster than anticipated, this could allow for a quicker switch to snow. I do so a slushy 1 to 2" possible. I will update this with time.
Today's weather is likely to feature some rain switching over to SNOW. We've been tracking a little system that will skirt by us today and tomorrow as it does there a possibility of a light accumulation. just a coating - 2". It will be crucial to watch the freezing line on the modified arctic front that will sweep across the area during the late afternoon time.
Right now it appears the heaviest accumulations will be just to our west where Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings.
You can see here that this map shows the freezing line reaching our area in southern Ohio at around 10 or 11pm tonight. That will only allow for about 1" or less of accumulation. But the models have been struggling with the Temperature Gradients. Therefore it could be later or earlier.
The Middle of this week.
It appears this likely to be the track of the storm for the mid-week system. Unless something drastic changes from now and then we won't be seeing any major accumulations. There is a possibility of just another light snowfall of 1-3". As we get closer to the event I will be able to tell more of what we can expect.
You can see here that the early week storm is still lingering back on the eastern sea board as the late week storm is coming down the shoot. Now it appears on the map that the late week storm runs into the early week storm, well it doesn't. It's gone by the time it gets down to Texas. Another BIG reason the late week storm is likely to take a southerly track is that HUGE HIGH pressure system, that's arctic air spilling in, and it's pushing the storm south. :(.
